About Us

After returning from a deployment to Saudi Arabia in 2021, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer (Desmoplastic Small Round Cell Tumor) with metastases throughout my abdomen, liver, bones, my right lung, and even lymph nodes. Despite the doctors only giving me 4 months to live, I have defied the odds and fought fearlessly for the past 3 years. Although I am the one fighting, I cannot take sole credit for my success thus far. I have had unwavering support from my family, friends, fAMMOly, and the Men and Women of the South Carolina Air National Guard at McEntire JNGB.

Shortly after my diagnosis, my Swamp Fox fAMMOly put on several fundraisers to ensure my family and I had the opportunity to make lasting memories without worrying about covering our monthly bills while making them. With their help, we were able to go to Walt Disney World for a week, visit our Nation's Capitol, and take several smaller trips to decompress and distract our minds from the realities of battling this monster of a disease.

Once I won my first battle against the United States Air Force in their attempt to medically retire me, I was allowed to return to duty while I continue my battle against Cancer. Upon my return, I longed to find a way to give back to those that supported me along the way (my Swamp Fox fAMMOly). While joking in the office one day, I was inspired to design a flag for our Ammo flight and fell down a rabbit hole where I started letting my creative juices flow.

With several ideas and designs at the ready, I sought out a way to make them available to the Ammo community and decided on utilizing various Print-on-Demand (POD) vendors integrated into a centralized shopping platform. With that, ThatAmmoGuy™ was born.

Now that I have a platform, I will use the proceeds to give back to those who have helped me the most. A percentage of all profits earned will consistently be donated to the Swamp Fox Ammo Fund so they can continue to help any of our Ammo Troops in need and support esprit de corps throughout the year. During checkout, there is an option to Tip should you feel inclined to donate in support of our family and the unit that has done so much for our family and others. This is not mandatory just an available option for those who find it in their heart to give more without the desire to acquire any merchandise.

All that remains will be saved for my family so they have something to help them offset any unexpected expenses upon my inevitable departure from this earth. The site will remain up after that time comes in hopes the Ammo community will continue to help support my family even in my absence.

Everything I make is done in jest with the humor many of us older Ammo Troops remember from our early years. I give every design the attention to detail one would expect from an Accountability troop reconciling a stockpile inventory. I choose quality products and only offer items AFTER I have personally sampled them. In the rare instance there is a deficiency with anything you purchase, I will work diligently to make it right.

If you have any questions, the site is full of answers - especially in the "About" section of the Main Menu and in the "Quick Links" section at the bottom of every page. You can always reach out if you have questions, suggestions, concerns or new design ideas through the "Contact Us" page. Email is the best method as I am still Active Duty and in/out of Cancer treatments, but will do my best to get back to you within 24 hours or sooner in most cases.

I look forward to doing business with each and every person that visits this site!

Thank you for taking the time to read about my journey and always remember, IYAAYAS!

Much Love,

Marvin Rose
